Need to back up to when I was a EMT

So I thought I would take a few words, to tell you about when I was an EMT. When I was in High School, as I said previously I wanted to be a Chiropractor. But I also had a strong urge to help people. I believe it was the summer after I graduated High School, I was working at a local store called Jamesway. Through my check out line came a man that I had recognized and we chatted for a minute. He was just about to break away from the Tabernacle Emergency squad and form a new squad with the Indian Mills Fire Company in Shamong Township. I thought this might be a good opportunity to check this out. So I did, and that Fall entered into EMT school at night Tues. and Thurs, and Sat. I did this while I went to community college pursuing by dream. I loved it, and I became one of the founding members with our hometown EMS squad which was all volunteer. When I first joined, I got to go on calls that were just amazing to me, before I even graduated from EMT school. After I graduated they had me driving, which was really not my cup of tea, but I loved treating patients. I carried my pager around everywhere, I would drive out of our very long driveway (my mom says at 90 mph) and zip down the road with my blue light going round and round, and my CB in hand radioing to the squad building to tell them I was on the way. Since it was volunteer we had "Duty Crew Nights" where we would be on call all night. I would pray on my college test nights that I could study and not be interrupted. But God made those choices, and some nights even at 2-3-4 am I would race down to get that rig and jump in and go. I learned a lot about life, about people, about the problems they had, mental or physical. I made good friends, friends that when I hear their name I think of them and smile. People who always had your back.
This started a new phase in my life. As an EMT I had a new part time paid job. I worked part time Friday nights and Saturday early shift 4:30 am, with you guessed it my now husband Sean! We were a team, we counted on each other, this made us so strong. Our paid job, was a good job too. In the summers I worked full time, and during school part time. The things I didn't like were going into prisons to get the inmates who were sick, and working non-emergency transport in and out of about 50 nursing homes. The smell never leaves your memory. I did this a total of 6 years. This experience set me up to be a great compassionate doctor. And when I get a chance after my kids are grown, I want to do it again.

How I became a Chiropractor

So here we go!
When I was in 8th grade, my mom had a graduation party for my Uncle and my Aunt, who had both just graduated Logan Chiropractic College. Well I thought that was pretty neat, so that's what I wanted to do. I was young and very naive. But I did understand what a chiropractor did, so I thought that counted. But then when I was 15 my mom got a job as a CA with a Chiropractor in Medford N.J. So I started going to him, and realized that my "funny walk" was getting better, and my allergies were getting better. At 15 I also met my now husband, (Dr.SeanMatteo)who also went to a Chiropractor in Cherry Hill NJ. in the basement of a dentist office. I watched him get adjusted and realized how different he was compared to my uncle, aunt, and my Chiropractor. This was getting interesting. I continued on in High School, told everyone of my friends, teachers and family that I was going to be a Chiropractor. I took all the Science classes, but I was horrible at math. But I decided that being a Chiropractor was a dream of mine, and I was going to do it. I continued with Chiropractic care through out High School and my mom continued to work for him for 10 more years. Looking back on it now I can remember never getting sick, I remember having more energy, and being very happy. So my math grades were not good, so I looked into community college in our county and saw they had a Pre-med/pre-Chiropractic program so I decided to do go there. Organic Chemistry was by far my hardest class I ever took in my life. The class was dedicated to Chemistry majors. It was a turning point for me, I had a 40% during midterms, I had two more exams to make it or break it. The the next class offered was the following year, because the spring was Organic II, which would have put me back 1 years time. So I dug down so deep and studied and recorded every lecture, listened and wrote out every word she said and passed Organic Chem. with a C+. You needed a C or better for Chiropractic College. For me Organic Chem II was much easier, I just repeated all my steps, to get myself out of there. Then after two years I went to Rutger's University and grauated with my Bioloical Science Degree, (oh yes I beat Sean with Calculus I got a A, just had to say that because anyone who knows my husband, he is the type that can go to class, listen, learn and then Ace a test, me had to study, study, study and would get either the same grade or a 1/2 grade lower than him). Then of to Logan Chiropractic College. This was a synopsis, tomorrow Blog I will tell you Why I chose Logan Chiropractic College.

Inspired like so many by "Julie and Julia"

Welcome, (This was my earlier post, back in Janurary, but it's time to make my commitment)
Like so many I became inspired by "Julie and Julia", to start writing a blog. I have felt the need to write for some time. There are so many thoughts about what I'm going to write on rolling in my head. I want to be perfectly clear about who I am before I tell you how I got to be the person I am, and the unknown of who I will become in the future. I am a dedicated "Mommy" of three little people, 1, 3,and 5. I am married to my high school Sweetheart, who I have known for 21 years! I am a Chiropractor and the Co-Owner of Matteo Family Chiropractic, Inc. I believe in Network Marketing, I am part of Trump Network, Richway, and Nikken. I am a very highly motivated person, positive, and love being Happy! I believe you have to take charge of your life, no one hands you things. I Love Challenges. So many people over the years have said you should write that down, so I will. I am going to take you back to my past to bring you into my future, on this wonderful journey called LIFE. We all evolve, we all have the power in our minds to change the path in Life. I believe my Journey can help so many people. Again being perfectly clear, I will take you on a journey, and also I will post different blogs about a variety of things that will help you with Health, Family, Finances and Life. I am excited as I go through this process to see this journey unfold. I hope you will join me, and learn as I will
